Most people tend to feel that you must partake of food when visiting someone or having someone visit you. They often regard this as being polite or courteous without giving a second thought to the effect it may have on their health or weight.
Do you always eat when being a visitor?
If you are watching your weight and are looking for ways in which you can lower your calorie intake then consider avoiding adding to your daily calorie count when visiting a loved one or close friend.
As much as you may regard eating together as being social, it does not have to be a regular occurrence. Your loved ones will understand if you explain to them that you are trying really hard to drop a few kilograms and they may offer you support as opposed to feeling offended. In addition, they may prepare snacks or meals that are suitable to your diet plan so don’t be afraid to share your weight-loss goals with them.
Do you always eat when a loved one is visiting you?
Similarly, it may not always be necessary for you to partake in snacks when a friend or loved one is visiting you. Of course, you will have more control of the situation and can prepare healthy and low calorie snacks for yourself (or for the both of you!), so you can get away with eating - without it having a drastic effect on your weight.
Remember to stay aware of how much you eat and how high or low in calories the food you eat is.
