Do you seem to get bored very often – perhaps a few times a week or throughout the day? If you do, try making a note of all the things that you do in this time. Is eating, nibbling and snacking on top of your list? Be careful if you are watching your waistline as many people tend to turn to food to get through boredom.
Try to avoid eating any food during this time as you may not only be tempted to indulge in the high calorie foods but may also forget to watch your portion size. Rather find something else to do.
It may be helpful to clear out your cupboards of all junk foods so that if you do experience boredom – there will be no refined and highly processed foods to go to.
Use your free time wisely. You can make a to-do-list of things that you need to do so the next time you seem to be bored, pull out this list and get busy. You could also plan your meals for the week or even prepare them in advance and freeze so that you are assured of eating healthy and nutritious meals instead of buying out during the week.
Be creative and have fun finding ways to reduce your waistline instead of increasing it!
