When you are bored or find yourself in a situation where you don’t know what to do, do you look for some form of food to munch on or indulge in? If you have answered ‘yes’ then you could be adding hundreds of calories to your daily calorie count and this can make you put on weight if done on a regular basis. Consider engaging in some physical activities instead.
Performing physical activities will not only help distract you from eating but it will also help you to burn calories – a great way for preventing weight gain and losing weight at the same time!
Here are some ways in which you can engage in physical activities:
Relieve stress after work or a hard day by going for a walk instead of going for drinks. Take your family along and enjoy this time together bonding and talking to one another.
Train for a race or marathon. This will help you to exercise regularly and will be a great distraction from food. It will also help to improve your overall health and even help you to reach your weight-loss goals sooner.
Play or learn a new sport. Gather a few friends and have fun challenging one another whilst working out those muscles at the same time.
If you love to dance, then turn on the music and dance! Alternatively join a dance class and learn some new moves – this is a wonderful way to burn some calories and make new friends too!
Always remember to consult with your doctor before starting any new exercise regime or making intense changes to your current one – especially if you suffer from any medical conditions and for some reason are required not to place your body or yourself under any form of stress or strain.
