Supermarkets and other food vendors want to maximize their sales and profits and usually employ unique marketing techniques and strategies in order to do this. Think about it for a second – do you often find yourself purchasing food items that you really didn’t need to?

Placing food items at the consumer’s eye level or at point of sale terminals together with selling them as a ‘special’ are some of the supermarket traps that are aimed at tempting you to buy more food items. Keep a lookout for these strategies the next time you go shopping. You may also find it extremely helpful if you make a shopping list before leaving home and then all you need to do is to stick to it!
Remember that any foods that are not on your eating plan will affect your daily calorie count so stay aware and focus on weight loss.
