How To Lose Weight With Zero Effort: 8 Simple Weight Loss Tricks
Many of us want to lose weight, but we’re terrified at the amount of effort that is allegedly involved in this whole losing weight game.
We’ve seen the treadmills, the morning joggers, the detox diet plans, the sweaty workouts, the kick-boxing, and so on.
So much effort surely takes up all your time?!
The thing is that losing weight can either be really easy or really difficult, and it’s usually really difficult if you don’t know what you’re doing, and really easy if you DO know where to start.
And if you know what you’re doing, you can also lose weight with minimal effort.
Excited? You should be! Let’s take a look at how to lose weight with zero effort.
Just Exercise A Little Bit
We’re talking a teeny-tiny bit.
See, many folk falsely believe that to shed the poundage, you have to undergo a rigorous, intense daily workout routine that gives you the worst muscle burn in the whole wide world. And this idea really scares lots of people (including me, I won’t lie to you).
But intense workout routines are not necessary! They really aren’t. If you reduce your calorie intake, you can get away with exercising a little bit – as long as you exercise a little bit often. That’s the key. Exercise regularly but not strenuously and all will come good.
Sleep In The Nude
How cool (and weird) does this sound?
Not that sleeping naked is weird, but losing weight because you’re sleeping naked? Now that sounds weird!!
But, hey, it works!
See, what happens is that your body realises that it’s actually pretty cold in here! In a bid to warm you up, your body is then prompted to burn lots of fat. So what happens is…yes, you guessed it; you lose weight!
Sleeping naked is truly the best way to lose weight with zero effort.
Just remember to put on a robe if you pop to the bathroom.
Introduce More Food Groups Into Your Diet
Another falsehood about losing weight is that you have to cut certain foods out. You have to cut this out, cut that out, stop eating that, NEVER eat THAT ever again, and so on.
But it actually isn’t like this at all. You don’t need to purposely deny yourself your favourite foods. Instead, what you need to do is introduce all of the five major food groups into your diet.
So, you need to bring grains into play, as well as protein, dairy, veg and fruits. You don’t need to abandon cakes and treats altogether, but you do need to make sure that they aren’t the only things you eat. That’s the key.
Identify Your Eating Habits
It is our eating habits that define our weight. If you’re the kind of person who greedily devours the entire plate “just because I don’t want to let anything go to waste”, then you should try eating from smaller plates.
If you’re the type of person who eats super fast while watching television, you should switch the television off.
If you’re the type of person who checks and raids the snack cupboard habitually (when you’re not even hungry), remove all items from your snack cupboard.
Find Something Else To Relax You
One of the reasons some of us struggle to lose weight is because eating is the main thing that helps us to relax. After a long, hectic day at work, we like to return home, slip into our jim-jams, put Netflix on and gorge on some sweets and treats.
This is comforting, but it isn’t going to help you lose weight.
So what you need to do is to find something else that relaxes you that isn’t food.
Have a think about this one; what will help you to wind down? A good book? A movie accompanied by some fruit, perhaps? How about doing the ironing or playing cards with a friend? Taking your dog for a walk?
Anything! 🙂
Weight Loss Is Only A Part of Your Life – Not ALL Of Your Life
One of the reasons that losing weight seems like a lot of effort is because many of us put it at the centre of our lives. We put the spotlight on it and allow it to consume us. Losing weight isn’t just a part of who we are – it’s ALL of who we are.
This is totally the wrong way to go about losing weight. If you want to shed poundage with zero effort, you need to relax a little bit more about the whole thing and let it become just another part of your life.
Yes, you need to remain motivated and attentive, but you definitely shouldn’t obsess over it. Make it a priority, but make sure it isn’t your only priority. Don’t put it first before your friends and family. Keep it there in your mind, and definitely work at it each day, but don’t let it consume you. There’s no need.
Reduce Your Intake Of Caloric Drinks
By caloric drinks, we are referring to those drinks that are loaded with sugar; these include milkshakes, sodas and pasteurized fruit juices.
It isn’t always easy to identify which drinks are super caloric, and the chances are high that you’re drinking something you had no idea was high in calories. This is because many drinks that are supposedly healthy for us – such as fruit drinks – are surprisingly unhealthy.
You can find out what is caloric and what is not by checking the labels, or by checking out a handy online infographic (there are numerous).
Drink More Fluids
But obviously not sodas, pasteurized fruit juices and milkshakes.
But you should totally drink more fluids because, a lot of the time when you think you’re hungry, you’re actually just thirsty.
Your body is so conditioned to most of its water from food that it wrongly assumes you need to eat another burger to fill up, when actually all you need is some water!
Stay happy and healthy!
