In general, many of us tend to eat more when we are distracted. Take for example how many chips you snack on while sitting in front of the television or how you manage to eat a huge portion of buttered popcorn at the movies. I rest my case!
A new study from Netherlands suggests that mindless overeating could be prevented if we reduce the size of our bites. The research predicts that satiation may be dependent on the quantity of bites and swallows while eating.
Obviously the smaller the bite, the more bites, chews and swallows you would need to finish a meal or snack. As a result, you should feel full faster which could go a long way to curb mindlessly overeating and cut calories!
