Order a spicy appetizer next time you dine out and you may be on your way to looking trim.
According to Menâs Health, a 1999 study in the British Journal of Nutrition revealed that consuming spicy foods may actually promote weight loss.
Consume less of your main meal
In the study, those participants who ate a spicy appetizer before a meal consumed significantly less of their main course as opposed to those who ate a non-spicy appetizer.
Capsaicin suppresses appetite
The reasoning behind this is that a chemical compound called capsaicin suppresses oneâs appetite. Capsaicin is found in chillies and is believed to boost metabolism and fight inflammation as well.
You could even try adding some hot spices to your home-cooked meals for the same effect.
