According to Menâs Health, researchers at the University of Birmingham discovered that people who were distracted at mealtime ate significantly more unhealthy snack foods later on, as opposed to those who paid close attention to what they consumed.
Reasoning behind findings
It seems that if you are not attentive to the meal you are eating, your brain will not completely register the experience.
This may leave you less satisfied and thus you may be more likely to overeat. Whatâs worse is that the overeating may be on unhealthy snacks and this is not good for your overall health and weight.
