Some people who are trying to lose weight have absolutely no clue as to how many calories they are actually consuming in a day.

But once they start to keep track of this number, they are often quite surprised to identify that they are taking in a greater number of calories than that which their bodies actually require.

Try starting to keep track of what foods and beverages you are consuming daily as this will give you a good indication of the number of calories you are taking in. A food journal would be useful in this regard. Should you find that you are taking in excess calories then you can start working on a plan to reduce your calorie intake.
