Believe it or not, pasta can actually help you lose weight. That doesn't mean indulging in mac 'n cheese every night of the week, though.
Cutting out or drastically reducing carbs isn't a healthy way to lose weight. Your body needs a fair amount to function properly. So instead of depriving yourself by cutting out all forms of pasta, choose whole grain pastas instead. Keep your portions small and don't get carried away with cheese and oily, fatty, creamy sauces.
According to one study, eating whole grains instead of refined grains (whole grain instead of regular white pasta, for example) can help burn belly fat. Research also suggests that people who eat several servings of whole grain foods each day are more likely to slim down and maintain healthy weights.
