You don't have to shun an entire food group to lose extra calories. Instead, try this tactic: cut out one treat every day.
According to dietitian Patricia Bannan, eliminating one thing that's padded with calories from your diet could lead to immediate weight loss.
Can you think of something you're eating almost every day that you know isn't good for you? Imagine what would happen if you stopped eating it.
For example if you drink four cups of tea or coffee during the day (with two teaspoons of sugar in each cup), cut this down to one or two cups. And don't add more than one teaspoon of sugar, or better yet â go sugar-free. For breakfast, you could switch your sugary cereal or chocolate muffin to a bowl of overnight oats (healthy, easy, and cheap!)
The trick is to cut out one daily food that's packed full of calories â without making you feel deprived.
