Different body shapes
Body shapes include the âhour glassâ shape, the âappleâ shape and the âpearâ shape.
Characteristics of a normal âappleâ shape are having a full and generous bust, shoulders that are wider than the hips, a waist that lacks definition, slim legs and hips and bottom that are slim compared to your upper body.
A âpearâ shaped person would store fat in the thigh and bottom region.
The âappleâ shape is seen to be dangerous to you, if you are overweight.
How is it dangerous?
If you are âapple shapedâ and overweight, you are at a higher risk of developing heart disease or diabetes, as compared to someone who may be âpearâ shaped. This could be due to the fact that âappleâ shaped people tend to store fat around their internal organs, thus making them resistant to the effects of the hormone known as insulin.
