If you're trying to find ways to curb those midday cravings, playing a short game could be just the distraction you need.
A recent study found that playing Tetris can reduce food (and even nicotine) cravings.
In the study, 119 participants reported having a craving for food and drinks, coffee, or cigarettes. They recorded their cravings and were then asked to play three minutes of Tetris.
By the end of the game, those cravings had dropped from an average of 59 to 45 out of 100.
Researchers explain the reason for this could be because the brain is concentrating on different shapes instead of focusing on food.
The next time you hit a midday slump and have a craving for something in the vending machine, why not try playing a quick Tetris game instead?
