A detox diet â based on raw veggies, fruit, juices, and water â might sound temping if you're struggling to lose weight.
But nutritionists don't recommend trying this diet. Here's why:
There's no scientific evidence that detoxing or cleansing diets have any health benefits or result in rapid weight loss.
A 2011 study found that starting a weight loss diet with this sort of cleanse could be counterproductive.
If you want to give your body a reboot and do a healthy cleanse, give this suggestion by dietitian Keri Glassman a try.
The cleanse lasts for four days and focuses on healthy carbohydrates, fats, protein, fibre, and water volume, which are all high in antioxidants.

Salmon
