Brian Wansink, author of Mindless Eating, conducted a study in which 46 percent of participants started a weight- loss plan on a Monday. Do you think that these participants were able to remain focused and dedicated to their new diet, for the rest of the week?
Well, the results revealed that 31 percent of these participants had a change of mind by Tuesday evening and had given in to some weight gaining indulgences. He goes on to suggest that people should rather aim to make their next meal a healthy one. If this cycle continues then people will be eating more healthy foods instead of giving in to weight gaining temptations.
So if you are planning to start a new diet, maybe try starting on your favourite day of the week (thatâs if you have one!), or on a day thatâs not as hectic - since most people are trying to fall back into their weekâs routine on Mondays.
Remember that if you plan your meals and keep healthy foods and especially snacks in your kitchen, then half your battle is already won!
