Making the switch from regular milk to soy milk is an easy way to cut extra calories in your daily diet.
Soy milk is made from soy beans and contains protein, zinc, potassium, and other vitamins and minerals.
An average cup of whole soy milk contains around 80 calories â lower than most skim milk.
Unlike milk fat, which is highly saturated, soy fat is good for you. The monounsaturated fat found in soy milk is loaded with fat-burning vitamins, such as vitamin B12 and riboflavin.
You don't have to cut out dairy milk completely if you're not sure about switching to soy milk. Give it a try with your cereal or in smoothies to start, and then gradually change what you add to your cup of coffee if you feel it's working for you.
When buying soy milk, stick to non-GMO forms. GMO stands for genetically modified organisms and these can be harmful to your health. Try and steer clear of any food packaging that contains GMOs.
