Low-fat salad dressings don't need to be bland or boring, and you can easily whip up something quick and tasty that's healthy.
Oil (usually olive oil) and vinegar are the two key ingredients to a great salad dressing. Make sure the ratio of oil to vinegar is at least three to one.
You could replace the vinegar with lemon juice or use grape seed, avocado, or a nutty oil for a different kind of flavour.
Season with salt and pepper.
Get creative with optional extras, such as:
Herbs â fresh or dried
Spices
Tiny diced pieces of fruit (like strawberries, for example)
Chillies
Mustard
Honey
These aren't as low-fat, but you can still make them healthy. Start with low-fat yoghurt and a little mayo as your base. Then add in your desired flavourings, mix well, and drizzle over your favourite salad. Yum!
