Salad is one of the easiest meals (or sides) to throw together, but it can also be extremely high in calories if you're not careful.
For example, drowning your salad in oily, fatty salad dressing, which is surprisingly easy to do.
Instead of just pouring a dressing on, try glazing the salad bowl with dressing instead.
Then simply toss your greens around in the bowl to coat them evenly.
This way you'll save on calories and avoid having a soggy salad.
It's all fine and well having plenty of greens in your salad, but if they're topped with cheese, bacon, oily tuna, salami, fried croutons, feta and even too much avo â then you've lost the plot, and you may just as well have pizza or something less healthy.
Tip: You don't need to cut out your favourite salad toppings, just limit them to one or two and use very little.
