Pancakes are one of life's most delicious breakfast or brunch indulgences. But they do tend to sneak in a number of naughty calories...
This doesn't mean that we can't find ways to make them healthy. After all, what's life without a good pancake or two (or three or four)?
There are a couple of ways you can easily cut down on those pancake calories and make them healthier:
Use whole-wheat flour instead of normal cake flour
Choose skimmrd or low-fat milk over full cream
Skip adding sugar into the mixture altogether (flavour with vanilla essence instead)
Watch the amount of oil or butter you use for frying
Go for low-fat plain yoghurt instead of cream
Fill or top with fresh fruit
Flavour with lemon juice, cinnamon, cranberries and nuts
