Have you recently lost weight and felt good about it, only to be told to âeat a muffinâ by a friend or work colleague?
You might not realise it, but you could be losing too much weight.
Losing weight too quickly is never a good thing. It's not good for your health, and you almost always put that weight back on â and then some.
You're losing a kilo or more a week. This can cause all sorts of health issues, such as fatigue, nausea, diarrhoea and constipation.
You become moody more often, with feelings of depression, anxiety and fear. That's because your body is becoming anxious about the amount of food it's getting.
You start missing your periods. This happens because your hormonal system can't make things work normally with a lack of nourishment.
You have trouble falling asleep. Sleeping on an empty belly is much harder to do; your obsession over eating less for supper could be what's keeping you up all night.
You're having dizzy spells. This could be a sign that you're not getting enough vitamins and minerals, which makes you more prone to a weakened immune system.
If you're nodding your head to one or more of the above, it's time to slow things down.
If you're not sure what you're doing wrong or need some outside help, chat to a nutritional expert who can put a personalised eating plan together for you.
