Redecorating your home or even just one room in your home, could provide you with ample opportunity to burn a few calories. Here are some ways in which this can be achieved.
Whether youâre throwing out old furniture or simply re-arranging the current pieces you have, pushing and carrying furniture requires serious effort and this can help you burn many calories.
Pack away items that you no longer need, into boxes. Seal and carry them into storage or load them into your vehicle to give away.
Discard items that you no longer want or need, such as those that canât be fixed or the children have grown out of. This may include old newspapers, magazines, toys etc. You could allocate them to the appropriate bags (such as for recycling or charity) and carry them outside for waste disposal.
In between tasks, take a break and do some push-ups or squats. Stretching may also help you get ready for other tasks that lie ahead.
Keeping your room clean adds the finishing touch to redecorating it. So start sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing etc and watch those calories burn right off.
Remember to get some help and never attempt to carry heavy objects by yourself, if you suffer from any medical conditions or have hurt your back, arms or legs.
