Survive an indulgent summer without gaining weight
The most difficult part of losing weight is maintaining it. Kim Hofmann, resident dietitian to Adventure Boot Camp, offers the following tips to help you survive the indulgent summer social scene without gaining weight…
How to survive a night out on the town
Before heading out, eat a healthy meal consisting of carbohydrates, protein and vegetables. This will give you the energy to dance the night away, minimise the effect alcohol has on your sugar levels and help curb late night snacking.
Start your evening by drinking a glass of water with a slice of lemon, this will ensure that you feel a little fuller and you don’t drink too much for the rest of the evening.
How to survive cocktail parties
Don’t go to cocktail parties hungry as seemingly harmless canapés are often high in fat. Try to eat something small before you go.
Instead of mindless nibbling, take a side plate, place a few of the healthiest looking items on it and then step away from the food table and eat your chosen selection slowly.
Drink a small glass of water in between each alcoholic beverage and know your alcohol limits.
