Social media is a great tool to use for weight loss support and motivation, but it can also have a dark side in terms of your self-esteem.
For instance, those supposedly inspiring images of fit and healthy-looking women on Facebook and Instagram could be damaging to your sense of self.
We've all been there. We've all compared ourselves to slim celebs, toned fitness models, or our healthy-go-lucky best friend. And it's not always uplifting, sometimes it downright sucks.
Why? Because we're comparing our behind-the-scenes and beginning with someone else's highlight reel or ending. There's a huge difference between the two.
Remember, what people present to the outside world is often just an edited version of their reality.
Stop comparing your worst moments to someone else's best.
Constantly comparing yourself to other women is a battle you will always lose. Sure, learn from the talents of others, but don't focus your energy on trying to be that person.
Instead, focus on trying to be the very best version of yourself. When you feel that you're comparing yourself to someone else, stop and redirect your attention to your goals and what you need to do to achieve them.
