Consuming too many refined, processed or junk foods will definitely play a role in increasing your calorie count for the day. Over time, you may find that your weight gain could have been prevented if you had just cut down on some or all of these daily treats.
Think about what you eat daily when having your morning or afternoon cup of tea. Do cakes, cup-cakes, biscuits, pastries – whether pies or tarts of any type – come to mind? If yes, then you may want to change this habit or snack instead of allowing them to make you pile on the kilograms!
Try finding an alternative to the high calorie treat. For example, opt for a fruit or some low fat yoghurt instead of the cakes and pastries. If you find it difficult not to indulge in a favourite treat, then try distracting yourself – grab a fruit and go for a walk while enjoying the fresh air and burning some calories at the same time.
Basically, you can try to change the high calorie food to one that is low in calories and of a higher nutritional value. Find what works for you and enjoy the weight loss process.
