Platters of food are often ordered for work parties. Usually, the large amount of food placed in front of people entices them to fill up their little plates with greater portions than what they would usually eat. And people generally do end up eating more than their normal portions – an easy way to gain weight.
Buffets offer people a very wide variety of food, such that they think that they are getting more food than what they are actually paying for. People often think that they will taste a little of each food offered at a buffet, but collectively this could be a greater portion of food than what their body actually needs.
Restaurants sometimes offer people free samples of food – in the form of appetisers or small portions of food that are to appear on their menus in the future. This is a form of marketing. This adds to the calories that you will be consuming as you will still be consuming your meal as well as beverages.
Try to avoid increasing your calorie intake by just having the portion of food that your diet plan indicates you should be having. Remember that extra calories all add up and this could lead to weight gain, so take caution!
