Try using a larger amount of water than what you would usually use when cooking oats during mealtime. Using an extra amount of water will mean you will have to cook your oats for much longer.
Oats absorb water so you may think that you are consuming more of it when in fact you are consuming the very same amount as before. This may help ‘trick’ you into feeling fuller faster and prevent you from consuming other foods and increasing your calorie intake.
