According to studies, shunning full-fat yoghurt for fat-free varieties could be one of the main reasons why you're picking up extra weight.
It may sound healthier to eat dairy products which are fat-free, but according to recent studies, whole-fat dairy might actually be better for you – and your waistline.
These studies found that people who consumed more whole-fat dairy, like milk and yoghurt, ate significantly less carbs throughout the day, when compared to those who ate mostly fat-free and low-fat dairy products.
Fat-free products are often loaded with extra sugar to compensate for their lack of fat. When you stick with low-fat or non-fat dairy products, you'll often end up wanting to compensate for those missing fat calories by eating more carbs (like sugary cereals, bagels, bread, etc.)
