When you're trying to lose weight, one of the first things you'll get advice about is to set a deadline by which you need to shed those extra kilos.
Sounds motivating enough, doesn't it?
The problem with this is, you're piling on a lot of unnecessary pressure to reach this goal within that time-frame.
And when you start feeling too pressured to do something, you get stressed. If you fail to meet your weight loss deadline, you feel discouraged or you give up altogether. Or worse, some people turn to more drastic measures to speed things up (think about all those dangerous diets and pills).
Forget the deadline and think about how long it took you to lose the weight you're trying to lose. Remember, losing weight and keeping it off is a lifestyle choice, so look at it long-term. As long as you lose it, it shouldn't matter how long it takes.
