So you go to the gym every day and do some 'exercise' because you have certain goals for your physique. But how do you guarantee that what you're doing right now is going to get you to your goal months or years down the line?
What if you're really just wasting your time?
The way to tell if you are getting closer to your goal or not DOES NOT have anything to do with how sore or tired you feel after your workout.
In fact, if you go to the gym and do the same thing every time and feel sore or tired every time then you probably have some sort of nutritional deficiency.
Also, the answer to our question is in the above statement: "If you go to the gym and do the same thing every time ..." you are NOT moving toward your goal.
You see, doing the same thing every time - running the same distance and time, lifting the same weights, doing the same one hour of yoga - will not make your body look substantially different in the long run.
Your workouts need to get progressively tougher, because your body should be getting progressively fitter and stronger.
This is your ONLY yardstick for knowing whether or not you will achieve your goals. Add one minute to your running time, add one kilo to the weight you squat, do a more complex yoga pose - just make progress, and you'll MAKE PROGRESS.
Makes sense right?
A fit and healthy person is always scared of gaining excessive weight.
Have you noticed how fit and healthy Jessica Simpson looks these days?
