Nuts are an excellent source of healthy oils and have other nutritional benefits too. Thus far, almonds have proven to be the best choice of nuts if you are concerned about your weight.
Amanda van Huysteen who is based at Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital in Johannesburg says that almonds offer us great vitamins, especially vitamin E, minerals and antioxidants. They have a lower fat content than other nuts which is estimated to be between 40 and 49%, depending on whether they are dry or oil roasted.
If you would like to include some almonds into your diet, remember to watch your portion size and opt to consume them raw and unsalted as this is when they are in their healthiest state!
