Alcohol can affect your weight in the following ways:
It reduces the production of the hormone known as leptin. Leptin provides us with the feeling of being full or satiated. You may thus find that you may start to feel hungry when/ after consuming alcohol. Be cautious as to the types of snacks or foods you consume as most often many people tend to consume high fat or sugary foods when having alcohol.
Alcohol also affects your liver metabolism. This may cause blood sugar levels to drop and insulin levels to rise. Both of these occurrences may stimulate appetite, which again means more eating. Take heed of what you consume. Indulgences once in a while can be overlooked but if done on a daily or regular basis, it can lead to weight gain and many other health conditions.
