A buffet offers one a variety of foods to choose from and of course the quantity of food that is available for you to partake of can sometimes be regarded as unimaginable. So what do you do?
Consider starting at the salad and/or vegetable section of the buffet. Try to select colourful vegetables that have not been overcooked or loaded with fattening creams and sauces. You should try to aim to have at least half your plate loaded with healthy vegetables.
Next select some lean meat to comprise the protein section of your plate. Opt for a healthy choice once again by avoiding the fatty cuts of meat as well as those that are prepared in rich sauces.
Don’t forget to include some carbohydrates in your meal as this is required to provide your body with energy. Aim to choose carbohydrates that fall under the low glycaemic index category.
If you find it difficult to omit the dessert part of your meal, then be sure to keep portion size in mind by cutting down on the amount of high calorie treats that you are about to indulge in.
