The following yoga exercise can be done in nine simple steps and is known as the ‘Salute to the Sun’. It is interesting to note that it uses almost every part of your body. Here’s how it can be done:
Stand firmly on the floor with your legs slightly apart and your arms stretched upwards.
Bend your knees slightly and slowly bring your hands to the floor.
Extend one leg backwards. You can use your hands for support.
Extend the other leg backwards so that both are extended.
Now bring both knees forward and curl forward in a tucked position. Note that your arms should be stretched out in front of you.
Now bring yourself out of the tucked position by drawing your chest forwards.
Extend your body forwards and up.
Lift your hips.
Place one foot forward and bring your head up. Then bring your other foot forward whilst tucking your head down to your knees. Lastly straighten your body up into a standing position, swinging your arms backwards.
