Debbie Johnson, author of Think Yourself Thin: The Visualization Technique That Will Make You Lose Weight without Diet or Exercise says that, if you imagine yourself looking thin and you do this consistently, then your subconscious will begin to support everyday activities that will assist you in becoming thin. She offers the following advice.
Create a thin key image of yourself and focus on as many specific items as possible. For example, What are you wearing? What are you doing and where are you? Now allow yourself to feel the happiness that you are feeling with your key image in mind.
Every morning, as soon as you awaken, give yourself 30 seconds to tell yourself that you love yourself and your body. In addition, avoid feeding any negative imagery about yourself to your mind. The same can be done 30 seconds before you fall asleep every night.
Then picture yourself standing in a corner of your room, looking down at your new body. Enjoy this feeling.
Reinforce your key image and saying a key phrase to yourself. An example can be ‘I feel a little thinner today’.
Be positive and stay with the process. Seeing yourself thin will help keep you focused on your weight loss goals!
