When you watch certain sports you are left with the sense that the athletes must be strong to do what they do.
Their conditioning HAS to be amazing, and they must be incredibly resilient. For me, combat-sport athletes are among the ones who must be the toughest and strongest. To get involved in something where the person across from you is allowed to hurt you takes guts.
But if you're clever (or your coach is), you help yourself out by hardening your body and making sure that you are solid as a concrete wall.
In order to condition yourself to stay standing in these situations your core has to be very, very strong. It is, after all, what keeps you upright in the first place.
What does this mean for you?
Well, if you want a tight, toned tummy, why not take some lessons in a combat sport and get the type of training these fighters get – something like kick-boxing, judo, or jiu jitsu.
The training is tough. And it works.
You'll get fitter, stronger and more toned than ever. Plus you'll get the added benefit of feeling more confident, gaining some great self-defence skills, and looking at the world with a greater sense of empowerment. Fighters also share a strong sense of community which may be missing from your current brand of training.
All round, a really good deal.
