When you think about acid, it's hardly ever a good thing. It's used to clean surfaces that are otherwise un-cleanable, to run batteries, and to melt corpses in action movies among other things.

Acid isn't something you'd want to put into your body if I offered you the option, but you may be doing so inadvertently through the foods and drinks you consume.

You see, our Western diet of mainly processed foods, sugar, fat, animal products and alcohol creates an acidic environment inside the body. This leads to poor health, lethargy, obesity and disease.

Our bodies are meant to be in an alkaline state for optimum function, and once there they begin to work properly. Being in this state is the only way to lose weight successfully in the long-term AND be healthy at the same time.

So how do you alkalise your system?

Drink more water, eat more fresh vegetables and fruit, and ditch refined, fatty, sugary 'junk' foods. Cut down on your meat intake - especially red meat.

You will notice a difference in how you feel, and how your skin changes. You'll begin to experience a better digestive process, and then you'll begin to feel lighter as you lose weight.
