Many women get caught up in how they can whip their bodies back into shape immediately after they leave the delivery room—but Jessica Simpson wants that to stop. "You are creating a life, and honestly, it's not easy," Jessica recently said to Good Morning America. "It is a really hard thing to go through." Which is why the star wants women to take a step back and embrace the amazingness that is the female body—pregnancy weight gain and all. "You deserve to eat your ice cream," she says. "You deserve to have your pancakes. Do whatever you want to do, and then afterwards, just know that you have to work really hard."

She's got a great point. Seriously, new moms have just grown another human being inside of them—and that's a huge accomplishment, and one to be proud of. If you want to take some time to focus on that, rather than how soon you can fit into your skinny jeans again, good for you.

Of course, it's always a good idea to stay healthy during your pregnancy—like squeezing in some activity and eating balanced meals. But Jessica highlights that it's also totally fine to cut yourself some slack if you indulge. After all, being kind to yourself is another way of practicing good health.
