Lets face it: Hollywood stars often dispense unrealistic and/or unhelpful diet tips. Embarking on a baby food diet, banning every last carb, or sucking down bitter green juice in place of actual food isn’t exactly healthy—or appealing.
But Khloe Kardashian has some advice that we’re totally on board with: Instead of peeling off pounds quickly on a restrictive plan, she opted for slow-mo weight loss that didn’t deprive her of the indulgences she loves. What makes her an expert? Well, the reality star melted 30 pounds over the last year and a half and has kept the weight off.

“If I ate better, I would lose weight faster, but I don’t want to,” she said in an interview in the February issue of Cosmopolitan Australia. “I love food, and there’s lots of family time with food and your friends. It’s a smart strategy: Research suggests that even just trying to maintain your weight—rather than actively attempting to lose weight—may help you drop pounds. Bottom line: If you want to maintain a healthy, consistent weight (or lose weight in a way that's sustainable), it's essential to develop a healthy lifestyle that supports your goals—and one that's easy to keep up for the long haul.
