While most people put in a lot of effort in choosing healthy food, they often forget to control the amount they eat. Perhaps due to a widespread consumerism and similar advertisements, we are always bombarded with images of food – that extra big tub of popcorn, the large fries, the gigantic burger, super-sized sundaes and pretty much all other food items. The food manufacturers realised that while people might not go back for seconds, they’d buy more if there was more in one helping. This has led to people believing they should eat more. This has fuelled the obesity pandemic that the world is witnessing today.
Another big mistake, quite literally, is eating from bigger plates. We have a tendency to fill up our plates, so it’s a good idea to eat from smaller plates.
