Include cardio
We’re not just talking about running on a treadmill at the gym. Get some cardio by running or skipping. ‘Running barefoot also helps achieve the best results from cardio. Milind Soman runs barefoot and he is one of the fittest persons you will come across. Also, make sure that you run early in the morning or early evenings when you can make the most of the sun rays,’ says the yoga instructor.
Get sporty
Participating in some kind of outdoor sports helps you get stronger and tone your body. Since you will also have activities planned at the beach, these sports might come handy. You can indulge in sports like football or volleyball, depending on your choice.
Freehand strength exercises
Exercises like push-ups, planks and squats tone your body and make it proportional. You can even do these at home. In case you want to incorporate some exercises into your gym routine, you can go for dumbbell curls, bench press and basically, any weight training exercises.
Stretching after cardio
Who doesn’t love a body that is toned, beach-friendly and flexible? A few stretching exercises after your cardio will make sure that you don’t have a stiff body and that your body looks athletic.
Yoga asanas for a beach body
Yoga is a great way to tone your body, improve your breathing and stay fit. Yoga instructor, Abhishek Sharma, suggests Bhujangasana, Tadasana, Veerabhadrasana, Marjariasana, and the Suryanamaskar to help improve your posture and tone your body.

How will meditation help you get a beach body? It helps you release all the stress and toxins from your body and energises you. With all the positivity and energy, you will surely not go wrong or feel moody about your workouts.
Martial arts
Martial art forms like Karate, kickboxing, etc. help lose weight and get stronger. Different types of martial arts help you burn different amounts of calories. Include martial arts in your workout routine for the best results.
Cut out these foods from your diet
‘No junk food, white sugar, fried food or butter or ghee. In fact, you should even avoid processed food’, advises Abhishek Sharma. There is no point in working out and sweating out if you end up gaining all the calories back with the food you eat.
Have a protein-rich diet
Proteins help you burn calories and also help to build lean muscles. Make sure you combine it with some carbs also. Foods like sprouts, meat, eggs, low-fat dairy products, etc. can help you lose weight easily.
Stay hydrated
It’s important that you are hydrated enough before you hit the beach. You don’t want to spoil the holiday mood with hot flashes or dehydration. ‘Have lots of freshly cut fruits, coconut water, and fruit juices regularly,’ says the author.
