This month was full of festivities but you stuck to your fitness regime with our healthy recipes for the festive season and the right amount of exercise. Congratulations and keep working hard. In fact get others to join the team too because it only gets better each day.
Morning – Start your day with a dose of healthy shots. Different juices work differently. Choose from a range of healthy juices of bottle gourd, beetroot, cucumber, bitter gourd, or wheat grass and drink it on an empty stomach. These shots help maintain blood sugar level, improve digestion, vision and help regulate acid levels in the body too.
Breakfast – After the fresh juices, enjoy a light yet hearty breakfast of fruit and yogurt muesli. This is an ideal Monday morning recipe when you are in a hurry. Layer chopped fruits, nuts, muesli and yogurt and it’s done. Try this if you want to avoid the bloating feeling when you step out in the heat.
Lunch – Go green at lunch time today. Incorporate the “so-called” boring ridge gourd or tori with this interesting turai moong chana recipe and enjoy it with palak rotis or paranthas. Just add palak paste to your regular roti dough while kneading it and you have yummy green paranthas ready. Wash it down with buttermilk, an ideal summer drink.
Dinner – Make exotic dinner in a jiffy at home with this healthy recipe of herbed chicken steak with coleslaw. You can skip the potato wedges to keep it light. It is protein rich and you can skip carbohydrates for a day during dinner time.
Snacks – Try the healthy version of bruschettas at snack time today. The basil and tomato will refresh you instantly and tickle your taste buds too.
At home – Exercise at home is easy and equally effective provided you do it regularly. This 10 minute home exercise video is the perfect way to engage yourself in some physical activity while you are at home or are unable to go to the gym.
In the gym – Who doesn’t love flaunting their triceps? Work on them with these 4 exercises that will give you triceps to die for. These are best done at the gym and with the help of a trainer if you have not mastered them yet.
Yoga – Instead of practicing one single yoga pose today, do a combination. In the last 3 months, you have tried various asanas and now you can easily perform combination sets of these for more benefits. Here’s the sequence of combination yoga you can add to your regime.
Before sleeping – It’s getting warmer by the day and so it’s the best time to sleep nude. Sleeping naked has several benefits besides keeping you cool on summer nights. So don’t be shy and try it if you haven’t already.
