The Truth About Losing Weight - For Good!

Have you been trying to lose weight without having to exercise? You may have taken weight loss pills, go on starvation diets, and tried everything else on the face of this earth, but you just can't seem to lose those pounds for good.

So what went wrong?

Of course, the answer lies in the fact that you haven't tried everything. In fact, you are probably avoiding the only answer that will bring you closer to your goals. The truth is, there is no short cut to success if you want the extra weight to stay away for good. The only real solution is to adopt a whole body approach.

Want to lose belly fat? Well, you can try going for liposuction. Liposuction will help you remove the fat cells in your belly area surgically. But the body must have a way to store the excessive sugars that you are consuming. In other words, fat has to be stored somewhere - if not at the belly, then where? Fat will then be stored in other areas of the body that has fat cells in them. So you lose belly fat, but end up having flabby arms and thighs. Not a very wise move.

Pop weight loss pills and hope that something would work? Weight loss pills usually get you to lose weight in one of two methods.

The first method involves breaking down of fat cells. This is similar to liposuction. But the drawback is that there may be side effects. From a health perspective, breaking down of cells may be dangerous. You have to remember, fat is not an enemy. In fact, fat is your friend. It's there for your survival. It's an energy reserve. When your body runs out of fuel, your body will draw on this reserve.

The second method involves destroying your appetite. You don't feel like eating, so you start to eat a little, or you skip meals altogether. In the long run, this can be harmful to your health. You can now see that both methods involve destructive measures. You are destroying rather than growing.

But since you are trying to lose weight, shouldn't you be destroying the fat?

Yes, you should be reducing fat, but it shouldn't be at the expense of your overall health. The above mentioned methods all involve destroying your health, making you weaker instead of stronger.

The only time tested method that works is to become stronger. You become stronger by building muscles. That means that is no escaping from exercising. Exercising in this context means strength training. You must engage in resistance training so that your muscles grow stronger.

It may take a while for your belly fat to disappear because that is the last place your body will draw fat from. But with an improved metabolism due to more lean muscle mass, those stubborn fats will be burned away sooner or later.
