Is "The Kind Diet" just another rehashed "
healthy way to lose weight burn fat book?" I think this book is different with a lot of great solid content. Being endorsed strongly from the medical community gives it a great level of credibility. Just reading the credentials of the person who gives the foreword in the book is like reading a who's who in the field of Medicine.
Neal Barnard, M.D., clinical researcher, author, and health advocate gives the foreword in Silverstone's book. He has been the principal investigator or co-investigator on several clinical trials investigating the effects of diet on health. As the principal investigator of several human clinical research trials, Barnard's work is published many in peer-reviewed medical and scientific journals.
Dr. Barnard speaks very highly of Alicia Silverstone's work, "The Kind Diet". He seems to even suggest this
healthy way to lose weight burn fat guide is much more than another diet book. In his opinion, "The Kind Diet" has the capacity to impact everyone on the planet in a very positive way. And that's a mighty powerful endorsement from one with such stellar credentials. I agree with Dr. Barnhard's positive assessment of the book, however, I do have just one small issue based on my read of the book.
The one issue I have with the author's veiwpoint is on the fact that eating meat is a no-no. That is, if you are going to be totally true to the "Kind Diet" way. Silverstone advocates that if it doesn't grow out of the ground you should not eat it. This includes abstaining from dishes that include white meat chicken breast or having any kind of seafood. Not even an occasional baked salmon would be considered as part of the the meal plan for someone true to the ideal
Kind Diet life style.
The real problem I have with the argument against eating meat is more on a philosophical level. In fact, I actually agree that adopting a vegan lifestyle, though I am not vegetarian myself, can be a healthy way to lose weight for obvious reasons.
I just don't agree that a guilt trip on moral grounds should be imposed on anyone who chooses to eat meat in their diets. "Eating Meat: A Health Issue or Moral Issue"is an article posted at my personal blog that gives my actual feelings on the morality of choosing to eat meat or not.
The Kind Diet is certainly a
healthy way to lose weight, burn fat and feel better. I strongly recommend to my blog readers you all get "The Kind Diet" if for nothing else but the delicious, weight loss, fat burning, health enhancing recipes in the back of the book.
The philosophy of The Kind Diet is certainly a
healthy way to lose weight and burn fat. It may not be for everyone, however, I feel its practical instruction on how and what to eat is certainly destined to bring to many sustained health and a level of wellness that otherwise could not be obtained through traditional approaches.
