The rate at which a person loses weight depends on several factors like dieting, exercise and genes. Some people tend to lose weight very fast while some are very slow. For some people half an hour of morning walk is enough to shed extra weight and some can't lose weight even after spending hours in the gymnasium. The reasons behind this is that some people want to lose weight but they don't have enough will power to do the things that are necessary for loosing weight like doing exercise and eating controlled diet. There are some cases of excess weight which can not be solved by using techniques like exercise and dieting. In these types of cases removal of extra fat through operation is the only way. However this is a very risky thing to do. There is no guarantee that the person undergoing the operation will become totally normal and lose all the extra weight. In fact most of the time these operations are life threatening but we must remember that there is no other way of dealing with weight problems which are genetic in nature.

For losing weight effectively and permanently, a healthy life style is absolutely critical. Without healthy living we can never think of loosing weight permanently. Even if someone loses considerable amount of weight and then again go back to old ways of eating fatty food and no exercise, it is just a matter of time before body gains all the excess weight again. So one must remember that losing weight is not about losing it ones but losing it forever. The only way of achieving permanent weights lose is through self discipline. Don't use car for covering short distances, if you don't like to walk, you may use bicycle.

Some people follow a cycle of gaining and losing weight. If this cycle continues for a long period of time then it may confuse the mind. In some rare cases the mind loses its ability to control body fat or weight. This may result in body gaining excessive weight.

Obesity is not only a look related problem. Obesity is a reason for large number of diseases like heart problems, high blood pressure, depression, diabetes, resistance towards certain drugs and even cancer. For smokers also obesity is a dangerous health problem.

Most cases of obesity are due to over eating and lack of physical exercise. Changing the way you live can change your health. Be positive and confident about yourself and follow a healthy routine.
