The main reason of excess weight is high-calorie meal we eat. So the way to grow thin is to decrease consumption of high-calorie foodstuffs. It looks very simple. You can eat only vegetables all the days and drink mineral water or fresh juices. If it is so easy then why to get rid of excess weight is a so difficult problem?
The answer is that now on people are civilized creatures and foodstuffs are not a question of life or death for them already. Foodstuffs are the question of taste now. It is not easy for adult person to change his/her tastes and substitute smoked sausage with carrot and Big Mac with cucumber. Tasty meal is a pleasure. And it is very difficult to refuse from any pleasure. So looking sadly in the mirror we can not force ourselves to eat not salted rice.

Of course if we are talking about 2-3kg (3-6lb) of excess weight then there is no reason to think about so lofty matters. But if your goal is to lose 20-30kg (30-60lb) and to maintain normal weight after that then you can not manage without changing many of things. You must change your lifestyle and reconsider attitude to your nutrition.
It is a very serious step. It demands that you reconsider some values. The pleasure from meal must become not so high value as it was for you. This process can take not days but months. Your goal is to change foodstuffs one by one to create your own balanced diet you can follow easily. There will be a place for pleasure in it for sure that you can follow it long. You must create not weight loss program but healthy and pleasant lifestyle.
