Lots of people have belly fat, the mistake they make is that they only see it as ugly. Many people don't realize that belly fat is a deadly risk factor to your health. To get rid of this fat you must have a proper program.
You have two types of fat under your belly. Right under the skin and on top of you stomach muscles is subcutaneous fat. This fat is what covers you six pack abs. This fat is not as dangerous to your health, but is still bad for you.
Beneath you muscles is visceral fat. This fat surrounds your internal organs. It's the what causes people to get big belly's that stick out. Visceral fat is the worse fat you can have, it will increase your risk of cancer, strokes, high blood pressure and heart disease.
To get rid of this harmful fat you must exercise and diet through proper nutrition. You must not eat any unhealthy processed food, and instead replace it with healthy, high quality food. Junk food builds up bad toxins within your body, you body will protect you from theses toxins by increasing internal fat storage. However, this fat is harmful to your organs.
Now, when it comes to exercise, you cannot do countless sit ups and crunches and hope to get rid of the belly fat. These exercise will just strengthen you abdominals and won't burn off stomach fat. Fat cannot be lost in certain places, it comes off all over the body. The stomach is one of the last places for fat to burn off, the fat here is very stubborn.
You must do workouts that stimulate your whole body. Cardio is the best way to burn off fat while you workout. However, lifting weights is a better way to burn calories and increase your metabolism. The more muscle you have the higher your metabolism.
