The first thing we think of when we have increased in size and put on those extra pounds is to stop eating.
If we do that however our body will hang onto the fat it has stored and the only weight we will have lost is from water and muscle.
Strategies for reducing body fat.
1)Breakfast:
We must break the fast. After sleeping it is important that we start the day with a good breakfast. Either small amounts of protein like eggs, milk or cheese. In a hurry maybe a fruit smoothie to get you going.
2)Skipping Meals:
This doesn't help your weight loss goals, it is much better to have a small snack like a handful of almonds, a piece of fruit or some low fat yogurt.
3)Grocery Shopping:
Make sure that you don't go shopping on an empty stomach. It is so easy to grab that snickers bar if you haven't eaten.
4)Fruit v Juice:
It takes longer to eat a piece of fruit than to drink a fruit juice and you get more fibre out of whole fruit.
5)Water:
At least 8 glasses a day. Cold water is said to be better than room temperature if you are trying to lose weight as you burn more calories regulating your body temperature.
6)Eat slowly:
The slower you eat the more you will enjoy your food and the different flavours. If you gulp your meals down you may still think that you hungry because the food hasn't digested enough to give you that satisfied feeling.
7)TV:
Don't eat in front of television because you are not watching what goes in your mouth, the thing that you are concentrating on is the program on TV.
8)Tummy:Whilst sitting at the table, practice pulling in your tummy. Hold for as long as you can to get those muscles working.
9)Support:
If you really are determined to lose some excess pounds you need people around to help with your goals, not negative people.
10) Patience:
In any weight loss plan you tend to lose weight quickly in the first few days, then the loss will slow down. It is important not to give up as slow and steady wins the race in the long run.
One step at a time, you didn't gain weight overnight so you can't expect it to disappear instantly.
