As with most things in life we know we shouldn't be doing like smoking for example, the first and often hardest challenge is to accept we have a problem and want to do something about it.
Let's face it eating too much is an addiction just the same as smoking or drinking, the biggest difference being, is that most of us to one degree or another struggle with this addiction to food.
Fast food outlets surround us selling high fat, unhealthy and cheap products where we don't even need to leave the comfort of our cars to, order it, pay for it and then EAT it.
In the USA there are an estimated 58 Million Overweight; 40 Million Obese; 3 Million morbidly Obese. In the UK the figures are lower due to population but proportionally not that much lower and catching up all the time. If you're ready to start losing weight and want to know a fast way to lose belly fat, let's get going.
Commitment It's easy to put things off until tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes.
Start today, NO last binges; NO last KFC or McDonalds, just start right now by learning all you need to know about losing weight and burning the fat fast.
Sustainable Weight Loss
Lots of us start diets and make some very crucial mistakes. Having good intentions and initial enthusiasm is one thing but neglecting to get good advice about following a calculated and sensible diet plan will probably lead to failure in your long term goal to lose weight where any enthusiasm you may have had will soon fade away and you'll be back where you started.
There are so many different examples of diets out there, some very good and some very bad.
The Fad diets, such as The Atkins (Low Carb Diets) are in my opinion the ones you want to avoid. The Human body has evolved over thousands of years and as a result of our ancestors not always being able to find food, our bodies needed to be able to adapt to this by using any fat reserves during times of food shortage and then replenishing the lost fat and protein (muscle) once food was available.
This is exactly what will happen if you remove a lot carbohydrate from your diet for example or reduce your food intake so severely as if to starve yourself. Besides being dangerous to your health, this sort of dieting doesn't achieve long-term results. Don't fall into the FAD diet trap, follow a good dieting program and understand how, what and why you should be eating and in what quantities. Be prepared to make changes, but don't just assume it's the amount of food you're eating that has led to your gaining weight. It may just be the types of food you're eating.
By changing our eating habits and focusing on the types of food we eat, we can often make a huge difference without necessarily always feeling hungry.
Exercise. This may be an obvious thing but remember, the less exercise you get, and the fewer calories you burn. Anyone watching the Olympics recently will have seen Michael Phelps amazing success. Michael revealed in an interview about the incredible amount of food he is able to eat on a daily basis and that he can eat pretty much what ever he wants.
So how come Michael can eat twelve thousand calories everyday and not have any fat on him. Well that's because he also burns thousands of calories everyday training or competing. If Michael consumed thousands of calories and wasn't burning them, he'd very quickly gain weight just like anyone else.
You can make some simple changes to your daily routine and start to lose weight. This combined with your sensible diet plan you'll start to see results fast. Next time you have a choice between taking the stairs or the elevator, take the stairs. Instead of getting in your car and driving that short distance, maybe you can walk!
I personally love to get out on the mountain bikes with my kids, I also love swimming, which is fantastic exercise and very gentle on the joints etc. As a dog owner I also look forward to walking the dogs. It gives me a reason to have to get up and get out whilst helping to burn those calories.
Not everyone will enjoy the same forms of exercise, some will love to run, some will hate running just as I do. It doesn't have to be a marathon, build it up slowly, don't over do it but DO something.
Self-Motivation Sure, it's going to be tough at times but it's like most tough things in life, if you make the effort and stay focused then you'll get the results. Remember follow a sensible diet plan, don't weigh yourself everyday, drink plenty of water and get the right advice.
If you have an item of clothing that you once loved to wear and can no longer fit into. Why not try putting it on every week or two as you progress through your diet plan. There's no better feeling than when you do fit the clothes that you could not a few weeks before.
YOU have total control over what YOU eat; YOUR success or failure is in YOUR hands. YOU can do it, YOU will do it and YOU'LL be happier, healthier and glad YOU did it.
