Finding information about losing weight is no longer a problem. There are tons of diets and exercise programs, and most of them really do work. The problem is keeping motivation losing weight. Going to the gym evey other day gets old, and staring at broccoli florets instead of chocolate chip cookies is worse. Don't worry. You are definitely not alone. There are ways to push through these weak willed times to get you to the body you really want.
Action -> Motivation -> Action -> Motivation
It's a cycle. You start working towards one of your goals. You start to see results. The results renew your vigor and you take action. Which leads to more results.... But which one comes first: action or motivation? Unlike the chicken and the egg, this one has a right answer, and it's probably not the one you think it is. Action is actually the first step. You can take action. Often, all you need to do is get started.
Make It A Commitment
Having motivation losing weight is great. But it's not a cure all. There are times when you won't feel like working out or you'll feel like pigging out. No one is motivated 100% of the time. It's important for commitment to take over at that point.
Imagine you have a meeting early tomorrow morning. You really really don't want to go, but you do anyways. Why? Because you have to. You can come up with all sorts of reasons that you need to go, but when your alarm clock goes off at 5:00 a.m. all that really registers is "I have to do this." If you find a way to make working out and dieting something you HAVE to do, you've won already.
Don't Try To Change Everything At Once
Trying to do everything right now kills your motivation losing weight. It won't work. Losing weight is a process. Approaching it slowly is a safer and yields a higher chance of success. You only have so much willpower, and if you try to use it all at once, you'll crack. This doesn't mean be lazy. By all means, push yourself or you'll get bored which is obviously not very motivating. Balance is the key.
