How To Jump Start Your Metabolism

If your body naturally burns more calories every hour of the day (not just when you're working out), then losing weight would be so much easier. That's exactly what naturally increasing your metabolism can do. Lucky for you, there are plenty of simple ways to jump start your metabolism.

Drink Up
There are a couple things you can slurp down to jump start metabolism. The first is green tea, and the second is water. Both are great for you, and you should be drinking them for reasons other than speeding up your metabolism, but each one will make you burn calories at an accelerated rate for about thirty minutes after you drink them.

Eat Up
That's right, eating and eating often actually helps jump start metabolism. Eating 6 small meals a day is really what you should be shooting for, but as long as you start eating more often (not more, just more often) then your metabolism with start to speed up. You should mix in some protein and fiber into every meal. It takes longer to digest, and your body has to work harder to extract nutrients from them.

Heat Up
Can a runny nose actually jump start your metabolism? If you go about getting it the right way, then yeah. Any sort of hot pepper (jalapenos, habaneros, cayenne peppers) will actually wake your metabolism up. The effects don't last long, up to thirty minutes, but who cares? Any kick you can get helps. Plus if you're like me, you don't need an excuse to make your eyes start watering and your nose run. It's delicious!

Get Up...
...And start walking. A little exercise throughout the day will can go a long way. If get up and walk for about 20 minutes, your metabolism will reward you by burning off extra fat even after you're done.
